At some point, when it’s not overwhelming, people should change that admin username!
It’s good to change the display name, but that only helps the appearance. Hackers try the username “admin” first because it’s a common default. Sites that use it let them halfway in the door.
I probably don’t have to tell you that internet cretins have hella-powerful password cracking tools and that most people–especially beginners who have not yet been burned–choose weak passwords.
Unfortunately, it’s a pain in the tail to change, but there are plugins that’ll help. More on the issue + solutions here:
